L'articolo presenta la posizione di Lutero sul ministero ordinato attraverso un'analisi dei diversi testi in cui il Riformatore si è occupato della tematica, da Alla nobiltà cri-stiana della nazione tedesca a I concili e la Chiesa. Dalla ricognizione emerge la centralità del ministero – sia perché di istituzione divina, sia perché senza di esso non si dà Chiesa – sul piano della "funzione" e non della dignitas, l'essere il luogo dove la comunità delega l'esercizio ordinato della condizione sacerdotale comune a tutti i cristiani in forza del battesimo e della fede, la decisività del ministerium Verbi come segno precipuo del ministero, la necessità della chiamata e dell'ordinazione.
The article shows Luther's position on ordained ministry, analyzing different texts in which the Reformer dealt with the topic, starting with An Open Letter to the Chris-tian Nobility of the German Nation, to On the Councils and the Church. From this reconstruction the importance of ministry in his theology can be seen, due to the fact that it comes from God and without it there can be no Church. Yet the centrality of ordination in his thought concerns its "function", not its "dignity", because ministry is where the community delegates the orderly exercise of common priesthood which has its source in baptism and faith. The great importance of ministerium Verbi as proper duty of ministry and the necessity of vocation and ordination are also clearly seen.
